Curation vs. Creation – A Balancing Act

In my line of business I am frequently asked the same question: “how do I strike the balance between creation and curation?”

The trick to successful content curation is balancing the rate at which you ‘curate’ content and the rate at which you ‘create’ content. If you create content as well as share it then you’re adding to the content eco-system – Google can see that as well as sharing existing content, you have new information to add to the mix.



If you get this balance right then there’s a strong chance you’ll be riding high in the SERPs (search engine results pages) before you know it.

1. Only display the best content on the web – displaying high quality content will help to show Google you’re an authority on the subject and will help to increase your SERPs.

3. Follow a schedule – it’s important to get into a posting routine so both Google and your readers will know when to come back for the latest update.
